Wedding Reception and
Services.
Arguably the decision on
where you decide to hold
your wedding reception
will have a strong
bearing on how
successful your wedding
day will be. So,
choosing the best
location and venue for
your budget is crucial
if your wedding day is
to run smoothly.
You need to think a
little bit outside the
box. So, as well as
making sure all your
guests can easily be
accommodated, and that
drinks are readily
available when they
arrive, you also need to
think about |
|
how your wedding
reception is going to
pan out throughout the
day. The wedding
reception venue that you
choose is where most of
the days festivities
will occur, so your
first question should
be, is the venue going
to be big enough to
cater for all my
guests? Will it be
able to accommodate the
extra space needed for
eating, dancing and
socialising, together
with other events you
hadn’t taken into
consideration, like the
cutting of the cake and
of course the throwing
of your wedding bouquet?
With this in mind, it’s
little wonder then that
many couples choose
hotels or function halls
for their wedding
reception venue due to
everything they need is
provided in order to
make their wedding day
run like clockwork.
Also, it’s not uncommon
for these types of
venues to offer a
wedding reception and
services coordinator,
thereby ensuring
everything runs on
time. Personally, and I
speak from experience
here, I would certainly
ensure you enlist the
services of a wedding
co-ordinator who will
work with you and meet
every need. What’s more
the great thing about
having your wedding
reception venue held at
a hotel is that
overnight accommodation
doesn’t require any
extra planning. |

|
Booking your wedding
reception location as
early as possible is
highly advisable,
especially if your big
day is going to be in
peak season and you need
to cater for a lot of
guests. Although at
this stage you will not
need a firm head count,
you will need a pretty
close estimate. Just
like your wedding, you
will also, need to
determine your wedding
reception budget, as
this will likely have an
impact on your wedding
reception options. If
you’re limited in funds,
then you may want to
consider organising your
wedding off-season.
This will generally mean
|
|
that rates will be much
lower. In order
for you to reserve the
wedding reception
facility of your choice,
you will be required to
make a down payment in
order to reserve your
big day. This payment
is typically
non-refundable, so make
sure you’re absolutely
certain that the wedding
reception and services
are exactly as you
need. Also, you'll want
to make sure you
understand the venues
small print regarding
cancellation, as it may
involve more than losing
your deposit…
